The mission of Retrospect Resilience is to resurrect and rekindle in our community's culture the discipline of repair and maintenance.
We do this by offering direct repair and maintenance services, by providing opportunities for skill building, and by engaging in extensive reclamation of resources and materials.
Maintenance is overlooked and neglected as a key component of our lives and economy, overshadowed by the glory given to innovation and the new. We have forgotten the importance of its function and role, and critically, the skills necessary to make it a reality.
We are a new nonprofit, obtaining 501(c)(3) status in June of 2025. We are seeking:
- Individuals seeking to learn a wide variety of practical, technical skills (see Working Here page)
- Individuals that support our mission and can serve on its board of directors
- Donations of tools (especially hand tools)
- Donations of repairable items for resale
- Volunteers to help with disassembly operations, organizing reuse/recycling materials, and marketing and social media
